Yup seen the video, I think there is a 3rd to come shortly too. But yes rolling objectives that count through out the game each time they are achieved is very good and will interfere with Death Star units in unbound lists as well I feel. So you could snipe the warlord in T1 and gain points, draw a new objective card, seize an objective in enemy DZ for another score and so on is how I envisage this going.
Should make games far more dynamic than lonely infantry models on last man standing duty claiming a single objective in the dial throws of the game.

HWG, I think the other pages displaed on Plasticrak talk about scoring successes. I assume this is going to be something like a success is a 4+ or 5+, so level 3 spells would require at least three dice thrown at them, and to get a good chance of casting it, you need more than that. Actually, I think this will be similar to BS or Techmarine repairs with Servitor assistance to account for psyker mastery levels. Say any power is cast on a 6+, and every mastery level your psyker has adds +1 to your dice rolls. Effectively a level 1 psyker would cast on 5+, level 2 on 4+, etc.
This would also rein in psyker spam because 2 level 2 psykers may very well use up those ten dice they get on a good roll to cast their four powers, if that, leavingany additional psyker with the paltry dice they generate themselves. Which is to say, psykers would generate fewer dice than they actually require, making those extra D6 in the dice pool a necessity whose use is limited as your number of psykers goes up. If you know what I mean.
I think the new psychic system is going to be good for the game.
I do disagree though, that it will be hard to summon a Greater Daemon, at least if perils is handled like in Fantasy. You have to roll a 6 to get the power, yes, but if you have it, using six dice (I imagine there will be a limit to how many dice a single psyker can use like in Fantasy) you should stand a fairly good chance of getting three successes, even if things go boom afterwards. I could see the perils result applying to the Greater Daemon that possessed the psyker, though, which would be hilarious if there's a sucked into the warp result.

Don't forget for every power cast there is a dispel chance too.

There's that. I assume that's lmited by an army's dispell dice, though, and perhaps there is irresistable force in 40k now, too. Things are definitely going to be more interesting.
After seeing the latest rumors, I'm now not sure anymore about getting the rulebook. Yes, it's confirmed to be three books in a slipcase, which is good, but WD seems to say that Dark Vengeance is not going to be replaced and instead going to get rereleased with the rules of 7th ed. Soon. Now my question obviously is, how soon is soon? I meant to get a second set of Dark Vengeance, and I specifically held off buying one because I had a feeling this might happen. This would be the perfect scenario for me, since I'd get the new edition for free, basically.

I heard that the new DV won't contain the rules, just a cut down getting started booklet that shows movement, shooting and assaulting etc. Real intro level stuff, not the full blown rules. Probably to avoid people doing exactly what you plan to do! DV even with old rules is still good value for money IMO

Well, WD says "updated to contain the new edition of The Rules". Note the capitalization that mirrors the name of the big rulebook on sale next week. I remain in good spirit about this, for now.
