Rumours are that GW has pulled from sale the 6th Ed Rule Book, Psychic Deck and Dark Vengeance from sale from independent resellers. Also rumours that GW emailed their store managers at 20:40 last night to pull them from the store shelves too...
Read into that what you wish!

Well if true they only do that with the inevitable release of a new edition and with the release schedule as it is means we should see a "teaser" backing it up and them talking about it in Whit Dwarf this week. Which would rather overshadow the expected 2nd week releases for Wood Elves.
We won't know it's true here till at least Wednesday as the store in Wolves is closed today and tomorrow. Also the boxed game and rulebooks are still on the website, but generic psychic cards aren't. I don't know if there ever where on the new site though.

I will never buy a hardcover rulebook again. Well, at least not at the current price. I rather buy the starter (not much more expensive and tons of extra models). Next to this I'll search my pc in case some pdf has suddenly appeared in my documents.

Depends on the box set really. But I always like having a hardcover version. I've more of an issue over the digital vs paper argument, in that I'd probably buy both if I had a tablet to have it on. So would rather they gave away a "download code" or something when you get the Hardcover version.

If they go digital only they are going to alienate a huge proportion of gamers, why should people be forced to buy a tablet that they may not want/ need just to read a rulebook?

Depends on the starter kit as to me buying it. Otherwise Ill go after market and get the mini book. As for the big book I wont get right away. Dont play like I used to. Digital only rule book??? Sell (almost) everything orks {including bits} & buy a cheap Samsung tablet and support 1 GW gaming army.

Hasn't been pulled from the GW site yet.
Any one planning to go to a GW shop today (and/or regular shop selling GW)?

Which would rather overshadow the expected 2nd week releases for Wood Elves. Don't worry. No one cares about Wood Elves. So, new edition then? Makes me look forward to hearing how that is received at my local store. I'm going to wait and see what happens. I'm always interested in a new starter set because of the models, but honestly I'm not sure I'm feeling like having a new edition yet. Fantasy, sure. 40k? Nah, I don't think so. So I'm not terribly excited, nor in a rush to go ahead and buy whatever comes out.

Likewise, especially when they've been bombarding us with so much extra stuff for it! Can't get interested in something like that. Although incidentally this is what the release schedule is rumoured to be:
April 26 - Wood Elves Week 1 Products Released
May 3rd - Wood Elves Week 2 Products Released
May 10th - Mystery Week???
May 17th - 40K 7th Pre-orders
May 24th - 40K 7th Edition Released
Taken from BolS

May 31: End of GW's fiscal year
Tinfoil hat time, but what's better to boost your numbers than a new edition? And since week one sales are all that matter...

I'll be honest. If 40k gets a new edition so soon I'll definitely won't buy it immediately and it even will probably make me set 40k aside for a while. First because I don't want a new edition yet. Normally at the end of an edition you have played so many battles that you want a new edition. Something new. But after only two years? Too soon. I'm still amusing myself. Also with the new high speed codex release this edition, it probably will even take longer than 4 years for me to be tired of the current rulebook as all these new army rules keep the game 'new'. Secondly, as I said above, the BRB is just too expensive for my taste. The second half is more or less old fluff and old pics I don't need every edition (as a veteran player) so the mini-rulebook is all I need. Also far easier to put in my army carrier and less weight. So for more or less the same price the starter is far more interesting. But starters the last editions only get released one or two months later. So I will do what I said two years ago and just wait for the starter instead of buying both the BRB and the starter and feeling like I threw away 60 EUR. Thirdly, since the high speed release schedule of 40k armybooks in combo with a lot of digital stuff, a lot of my club wargamers (we were actually a 100% 40K wargaming club untill two years ago) have slept into other games, and 40k has never been less popular. So not really eager to invest a lot of money in a game that I may not play that much.

I thought this 7th Ed was just an amalgamation of 6th ed and all the "Add-ons" issued since? Am I wrong? It usually takes 5 years before complete new Editions are issued! HG
