Bit late perhaps but no-one's accusing orks of being masters of quick-witted repartee and Ah, allow me to correct this commonly held misconception. For this purpose I shall quote from my Imperial Infantryman's Uplifting Primer: "... they are considerably weaker than the average man, despite what their appearance suggests." "... lack of intellect..." "... little, almost useless eyes..." "Orks are cowards." Therefore, it is entirely reasonable to consider Codex Orks an apt depiction of Orks. Un-proppaganda is just too good to waste

On topic, has some one went to a GW store last week and indeed saw DV was no where to be found?

I've been into my local GW and DV is completely off the shelves. Instead they have a box of spiffy new banners to drape all over the store featuring the artwork from the IG 'dex, tagline "There is no time for Peace" and the date of May 24th.....

So still none the wiser then. It's either a re packaged 6th ed tieing in all the flyers escalation and stronghold rules with bits on apoc to cover Knights (str d effects, stomping and super heavy stuff) or a new edition entirely. No one knows. Everybody is just hoping it's not going to rip you off (which it of course will do and ppl/idiots like we will still buy it). As a percentage of my gaming stuff, another book is a drop in the ocean for my hobby investment. But for anyone only been in for 2 years or only dabbles when time and funds permit they are going to feel might mugged off. And of course there is no social media to even tell GW that, unless with the new release a new wave of socmed follows suit with new Facebook and Twitter accounts etc. but no doubt locked so you cannot comment...
Not long to wait I guess. And that's my wedding anniversary weekend to boot! 1 week short of moving into my new home yay

Everybody is just hoping it's not going to rip you off (which it of course will do and ppl/idiots like we will still buy it). Two years ago that would have been me. I've been looking forward to and bought every new edition at the first opportunity. Now I'm not so sure that's going to happen. I'm not even sure what is going to get released, which is, less than a month out, as stupid a situation as it gets. Not a problem for me, because unlike all those other times I am not in the least excited, but there are two broad possibilities. Either it is an update you don't need, because FAQs will enable you to get the same content and the book is there for new people and those that want it all organized and in one place, or this is a real, significant edition change. Then what? In my case that entirely depends on the people I play with. I don't have to get a new rules right away, and with how long editions now last (yes, I assume the worst and consider this GW's new approach) I'll be content to wait for the starter set rulebook because at least the models from a starter set last me longer than an edition. There's precious little chance that I won't play 7th ed, though. The real question is when and how much money GW gets from me.

My view on this subject is about the same as Geifer's.

Never mind it being pulled. Check this from the WD: i.imgur.com/mRU59uo.jpgNote the comment in the left corner under the picture, describing how this chap has been "reduced to childlike squeals of excitement" - well, why not? After all, that *is* their target market, isn't it? Meow. R.

Ooh, thanks for the picture. Note the comment in the left corner under the picture, describing how this chap has been "reduced to childlike squeals of excitement" - well, why not? After all, that *is* their target market, isn't it? I have two things to say to this. One, I am now so excited, excited does not describe my excitement. I should refer to my emotional state as either ecstatic or euphoric. I am not quite sure, having lost my rational capacities for the moment. I am now eagerly awaiting release day. I will buy three rulebooks, so that I may experience child-like squealing myself. Thrice. Two. "War. War never changes." He's a liar.

"Throw the Force Organisation chart out the window." Well, take that statement and the possibilities it raises, coupled with Escalation and Stronghold Assault rules, shall we just scrap the Warhammer 40,000 brand and just call the damn thing 'Apocalypse Light' and be done with it?

Do you have pics of the following pages of that article as well eiglepulper? The next and final page of the article is here: imgur.com/a/Kbyu1#1So, finally actual information. Daemonology sounds like fun. I know a certain supposedly radical Inquisitress who would not mind having a proper lore to reflect her disposition. Other than that? Yeah, same, but different. I don't doubt that the game will be functional and fun, just like every other edition I played. People around here love witchcraft, filthy heretics that they are, so a system that's closer to Fantasy magic might appeal to them. It should also sort out the common mistake that buffs and hexes are cast at the start of the turn, which is forgotten quite frequently. A dedicated psychic phase would remedy that. Also gives me hope for actual psychic defense for armies without psykers. Necrons should have more and I think a new codex could see the return of Pariahs and modification of twilight prisms to sap psychic energy out of the phase (as in adding dispell dice). That'd be neat, if GW were to implement my wishes. It could work if the penalties for tossing out the FOC were harsh. I doubt they will be, but I am quite taken with the freedom this provides. Of course the likely outcome is for it to allow people to take the filthiest unit they can find, and then take three more because they can. It's pretty neat for theme lists, though. Provided it works as (briefly) advertised. Flayed One armies without the taint of Warriors and Immortals, Deathwatch armies purely made up of Sternguard, I find that agreeable.

All very interesting on the web today then since the WD leak info. Inter webs swamped with rage quit, cost issues, balance questions etc etc. So the internet hated 6th and allies as it broke the game. GW launch new version and the internet hates it already. Lose lose situation. I wonder how unbound Death Stars of riptides or whatever will, cope with the new objective thingies? Lots of questions and no answers yet.
Either way Stretch, don't get that DV set thats still on sale near you....
