Since my entries seem to be scattered around of late I've decided to create a thread for everything and just update that! So here I'll update everything other than the Tale of Gamers Lizardmen. Firstly links to the previous blogs: Apostles of BloodDeadzoneand the few Dreadball pics: Robot team and Nameless Spawn

For my first proper post I've dug out my Cygnar for Warmachine to paint. I was planning on getting a few more bits done for Zog's store's WarmaHordes tourney but unfortunately he picked a date that I've already got plans for. Oh well, the important thing is that getting them out as rekindled that fire a little and to get them painted. So for Cygnar I have a unit of Stormblades, Gun Mages and Tempest Blazers to paint, along with Captain Caine and a Journeyman Warcaster. I did finish the Stormblade leader the other day: Lighting kinda sucks on this photo though. So I've currently got the Gun Mages on my painting table to be done next. Yesterday I also bought the Teraton Dreadball team: I've been thinking about them for awhile as I'm going to paint them into Blastoises. That should be fun! Now if only the weather would get better so I can do some spraying and undercoat some stuff!!

Also because I got the Teraton team I kind of had to get the Teraton giant Dozer. Built her up too, although had "fun" getting the tail to fit. So spent a fair amount of time hacking that back and had to green stuff the gap.

Last night I thought it a good idea to start a painting notebook. I did have painting plans on scraps of paper lying around my desk for awhile and thought I should gather them together. I have plenty of notebooks for army lists and ideas etc so they all went in there. This is especially because I looked at my Gun Mages and can't for the life of me remember how I did their trousers >_<

Been looking around the web for decent paint schemes for Dropzone Commander. I've found the following: For Scourge I'm liking this: Simple to paint up too, literally spray black -> drybrush silver -> red wash -> drybrush silver -> blue bands (airbrush) -> details For UCM: But using blue/greys in a more urban camo style Finally for the PHR I'm more stumped right now, I've seen some digital camo that looks ace. But also a nightmare to do. Think a more anime mech sort of style would be ace, like Gundam Wing rather than Evangelion though. However I must try and do this: Properly poseable Hades
And another: With flight base attachment

I've got more plastic crack! Finally got my mitts on the Dropzone Starter box and a PHR box. Here's what I managed to do last night: The paint scheme for these guys (in theory) should be fast. So hoping to get them painted quick!

Started putting the PHR starter box together last night. Very nice models! It is taking longer than the Scourge plastics as they are resin but there is only a minimum of work to be done. Worst part is on the Neptune dropship a mould line across the front that I'm going to have to sand down, but once again another company that proves that resin can work!
I also did the first coat on the Scourge warriors coats, took ages! They're so small!

Played my first proper game last night at Contain's Toy Soldier's games night. Was my Scourge up against the UCM starter box.
It started poorly for me when my tanks were able to hit but couldn't do any damage. However it turned better when I slowly started picking apart the UCM gunline. There was a quite brutal fight between our infantry in the central building with an objective where my guys lost, but the real turning point was when the UCM found an objective and foolishly tried to run it off the board in an APC (I'd already destroyed the nearest dropship). My Hunter tanks quickly caught up and destroyed it and collected the objective themselves, which I was able to hand over to one of my dropships that made it off the board.
So I won with 3 VPs. 1 from another objective I'd found in a building and 2 from the one I got off the board. However I also destroyed the entire force minus some infantry and a single dropship!
Fantastic game! Can't wait to get my PHR painted to try with them next!

I think I might try a scheme similar to this for my PHR, but with more clean white sections and the dark sections being blue/grey camo style. However I need to finish building them first. Also my focus needs to turn back to the Lizardmen, hopefully I can get a load done on them this weekend, maybe even finished. After that I want to at least undercoat and spray my Teraton Dreadball team. No rest for the hobbyist right?!
