So finished building the UCM from the starter box last night! However, they won't be painted immediately though. Got a Skink to finish

I seem to have my painting mojo going so strong right now!! Here is a piece of scenery Zog made awhile that I've now finally got painted: Not quite finished yet though. Got the rest of the base to do, got some mini plasticard circles to be coins and fill it up with water effects. Speaking of water effects any suggestions?

Like the look of the UCM starter set, now get that "Skink" painted. I would like to see the UCM done (may be what i decide to go for), now get a move on.................I liked the look of the last faction you did, but did`t feel the pull. But with the UCM i kind of drawn towards them.
Love the water feature, nice touch adding some coins to it. As for water effects i`d say look around, as there`s so many different type`s out there. Maybe someone on here could point you in the right direction....................
Doom....

Well next in my painting queue (other than the finishing touches to the fountain there) will be my Teraton Dreadball team, then depending on how long that takes will likely be February so the next Lizardmen unit. After that the UCM along with the PHR will hopefully get done.

Water effect: 'still water' (vallejo) is easy to work with. 'Water texture' (vallejo) is cheaper and the better choice if you don't want still water. More work as you need to create the ripples yourself.
You best look at some tutorials on youtube. Both are great depending on what you want.

I think it was Pete put up a thread on the old board about his Viking Longship and river inlet gaming board, following the link he put up to another forum, most of the people there were talking about EnviroTex (although - from memory - that wasn't what was used on that board) so I got some to help out on another of my stalled projects. I must confess that I haven't actually used it yet but, according to the instruction sheet, it is mixed 50/50 for about two minutes and can then be poured to a depth of about 1/8 inch which, they reckon, is roughly the equivalent of 50 coats of varnish.

Been having a bit of a search for water effects stuff. Found Vallejo's stuff mainly. They have a set of three things, still water, foam & snow and transparent water.
Still water goes flat and is a liquid, foam & snow dries opaque for those details and the transparent water is a mouldable gel.
I haven't found any tutorials to use the stuff however, especially for what I'm wanting to do, as the descriptions for those all make it sound like shallow water. Not a relatively deep fountain. Plus adding in a bit of movement in the way of a spout would be nice.

No one should trust me with electrics, especially when water is involved! Although those videos look like they could be good! I'll give them a proper watch later.

Finished building the PHR over the weekend. They do need some liquid green stuff to fill some gaps however, will do that this week sometime. In other news I sprayed and basecoated the skin for my Teraton team, hopefully do more of them this week too!

In other news I sprayed and basecoated the skin for my Teraton team, hopefully do more of them this week too! Those latest vehicles look great; especially the fliers. Is there any chance that you could post a pic of one of the PHR drop ships with a standard 28mm miniature near the cockpit area? I have a crazy idea that involves Grymn (28mm space dwarfs) and those fliers. Good news on the Teraton front as well... I am looking forward to seeing those too

I can do and if you're going to do what I think you'll do it'll be hilarious! In the meantime just remember that it's 10mm scale and that the infantry are 10mm tall and that the GW hobby tray and knife mat. Meaning that the holes at the back are GW paint pot size.

Cheers I know they are small but I am hoping that they are JUST big enough to be used as a single-seater... I love the design and think they would make great mini-gunships... but I need a miniature for reference. I have loved these PHR miniatures since I saw them at Salute but I couldn't justify getting any (if they had been for sale on the day I would have got some though... but they were just pre-release display models at the time). I can't wait to see how you paint them
