Some tips I used when losing weight
• Get hungry when its not time to eat, get a big glass of watter.
• Don't eat after dinner, you don't need it, its a habit, again drink watter.
• Try to move, running is a cheap way to lose weight, some of you are unable to do so, try and find something you can do. I found a fantastic app on iOs called get running, its a easy way to get moving without pushing you to hard.
• Soda, just dont, its pure sugar.
• Fruit, eat it, leave the cookies and junk, eat an apple.
• Look at your lunch, I used to have 6 slices of bread, I don't need that, I have a sitting job so i cut it down to 4.
• Dinner, don't pile up your plate, and don't eat whats left off your partner/children and don't eat whats left in the pot just be-course it a waste to throw it out.
• Your stomach needs 20 minutes to determine whether it is full. Your stomach needs to get smaller so you feel full faster. So eat slow.
• Don't starve your self, a Diet is NOT the way to lose weight, it will go, but will come back, change your eating style to something you can keep doing.
• Don't buy unhealthy stuff, if its not in the house you cant eat it.
• Eat that chocolate or what ever is your craving one in a while, just not to often.
Take it as you will but these things helped me lose weight

Lots of good advice on here guys thanks for sharing 3 days in and instead of stuffing my face with whatever rubbish I can find I am eating lots of fruit, veg, sugar free cereal and porridge (I never used to eat breakfast but I am determined to change my ways) and lean meat/ fish- all the things I enjoy anyway, my problem has always been the junk I eat besides the healthy stuff but I'm determined this time. Excited and nervous for Monday for my first week's weigh in though! FK

There are a few apps available for the various smart phones, that are designed to help you lose weight in a controlled weight. They work by getting you to record what your eating and what activity you do. It gives you a realistic calorie target based on age, current weight and activity. As you slowly lose weight, it adjusts the calorie intake to keep you at a steady rate.
It's well worth a go if your wanting an easy way of tracking your intake etc.
Android has one called 'my fitness pal'. I know there are some on the apple devices very similar.

Sorry for the lateness. My initial weight was up from what I'd remembered. Actually 256 lbs. I weighed yesterday morning and I'm at 18 stone 1 lb. Yay me! lol! I've cut back on portions, but more importantly, I'm cutting back on the red meat and fried foods. Instead of eating a burger, I get a sandwich on flat bread. Chicken is grilled or roasted instead of fried. Same for fish. I've tried to add more veggies to the diet as well. Good job to everyone! Let's keep it going!
