What do you guys think about the bases for the War machines? I made them out of mdf (4cm by 5cm). Being metal models I thought they would be more than worth it as a precaution versus paint chipping. Looks good specially with the snow. If you hadn't mentioned it I would've thought it was a "real" base. Only nit-picking is that the corners are slightly rounded but that hardly matters

Like the idea of mdf for the bases, may get some for the more heavy things in the army.
Nice bases you have done for the cannon and crew, like the way you have the cannon tiltting to one side nice touch.

Thanks! New update:Just came back from work and started on my new scenery piece (don't you guys forget that scenery! ). I have decided to a hill first. Simple and not time consuming at all. One hour and it was already build. The Tower probably took my like 20 hours to build. Anyway, painting the Organ Gun and its crew is now the priority. Hill does need to get painted and flocked though, but it's currently drying (styrofoam hill glued to a base of mdf) and as I like painting scenery more than models, I can paint it at a moment I'm really not into painting models. I hope both things I can finish early (will see, short month may spoil the fun), but I want to paint something else (Dreadball team!!) as well this month.

Update:- Did some minor changes to the hill, and glued some extra rocks to the base. Now it is definitely ready to see some paint and snow. - Next to this hill I also made two bases for two small forrests, as well as the individual bases the trees will stand on (so they are removable). And will stand on is not correct as my hot glue gun already took care of that. The two large bases still need some attention. Once that's done they can get painted and see snow. So probably three scenery pieces this month. This may be necessary as I want to build a river and that will probably take a couple of months. So now the pressure will be of. - When it comes to the Dwarfs themself; well I have started on the armour and other parts that will end up in metal colours. Basecoat has been given as well as a wash. Once I have finished the metal work (hopefully tomorrow evening) I can start on the pleasant parts: flesh and beards!

I have scheduled my first WHF battle. End of June. That should be enough time I hope to get familiar with the rules and have build a 1000p force. Online shopping is one thing, but having to wait for it (my armybook) is something entirely different. I want it now!!

I've been trying to organise one too. Although I'll need to build cold ones first

Surely that's three units? The Thane is a Hero right? Yeah, but the two boxes of Hammerers will together make one big unit of 20.
