Thanks, but I beg to differ! I had a feeling something was wrong with the face, but apparently I've become really good at "overlooking" problems lately. Started painting and found I had to redo a bit of the face, especially the nose. Well, that's done and painting is back underway, but boy do I have a talent of making myself feel miserable. I hate carving up painted models.

Update time! Today an oddly technical one... I bought a little LED display case for my computer desk so I don't always have to turn around to look at models of interest to me at the time (I find it quite helpful to have a WIP sculpt around in case I have an idea in the middle of the night and need physical help visualizing it). While the case does a great job lighting the entire room, the model doesn't get a lot of light. Maybe if it was larger, but 28mm to 35mm models have a hard time. Nothing a bit of plasticard and scissors can't fix. So I made a little roof for the otherwise clear plastic tube that holds some tin foil to reflect back the light on the model. I'm not sure yet if it's enough or if I need more reflection, so in the same vein as with other WIP pictures, I figured having a magnified picture around helps me make up my mind. As for actual hobby progress, painting has been slow because I can't really work on tiny details right now. However, I assembled an entire Wastelander gang (plus some assorted models) and prepared them for painting, so depending on how things go, I may have some more painted models soon. The first terrain piece is also in the making, I have the parts and only need to work on the composition. First one will be the (repurposed) town church.

Update time! Scenery: It's a sad little photo because I don't have room right now to take pictures of large models, but at least you get the idea. It's WIP in so far as there will be a tree to the back right, but I can't glue it on yet because it's one of those fine ready made trees that I don't care to spray over. The second point is that I'm not entirely sure how to do the ground yet. Painted sand, obviously, but I am not sure yet if I should add some rocks and texture that might get in the way of placing models. The will be static grass, I just don't know yet how much and if it breaks up the monotony of flat sand enough. As far as the base goes, it's 1.5mm plasticard and surprisingly sturdy. Because of the building and the long wall (which were placed quite deliberately) I cannot tell yet if it takes a heavy resin piece like the sandbags alone without bending, but arranged like this there is no bending at all. Another one of Brother Vinni's fine miniatures, she's an addition to my slaver gang. I went with a more colorful approach for her, because while I like the unpainted model, I didn't really have an idea how to paint it. The model isn't lacking in cool elements, but I didn't have a color scheme to tie them all together, so instead I did the opposite and didn't even try, going for a ragtag appearance of random stuff. It doesn't help that I wanted to paint the model as is but don't have a visual identity for the gang planned out. So she may end up not going with the rest of the gang too well. Yep, that's a T-800. I gave Terminators a try to make Institute synths because they are, to my knowledge, the closest models available, even if they are quite different stylistically. But as a stand in for synths, I'm cool with Terminators. I also used the unaltered model (excluding the gun swap. of course) to get a Gen-1 synth. If I felt so inclined, modeling rubber skin on for Gen-2 appearance might get them to look closer to the models from Fallout 4, but I'm not in a hurry to work on this, so I gave a try to seeing how far a paint job might get me first. Fixed the right eye. Now that that's done, I may be able to focus on the rest of the model and spot any problems there.

@scenery: Very nice, looking forward to seeing some paint on it. @terminator & Chick: Both of them fit along nicely to what I have seen here recently. What game-system are you using all those post-apocalyptic minis for? @teddybear-Guy: I especially like the way the bottle turned out - it looks really like a worn PET-bottle filled with some lukewarm (and maybe radiating) water.

Thank you. I started gluing sand on the scenery base. It'll take a little while until that's done (especially since the glue is kind of old and not very cooperative). I'm quite looking forward to seeing paint on it myself. Hopefully it won't be too tedious. I use a modded Necromunda for games of Fallout. It's still in beta, but thanks to the good framework the game is in decent shape. Could use more playtesting than I can get in, though. Painting the bottle has been my biggest fear. I'm glad you like it. I struggle with anything glassy. Hourglass on a Sigmarine, vials on Apothecaries, windows. I can't seem to make them look good. I cheated with this one because Nuka Cola Quantum glows and needs OSL, which I've figured out a tiny bit more than glass. It really helps having the light source on the model than somewhere else.

Update time! Today with the first finished Wastelanders. Eckard the Cook: Junior: After working with these, I have to say Black Scorpion Miniatures has just been catapulted to the top of my list of manufacturers next to Brother Vinni. I like their models a lot, the quality is good and the model's style is just what I'm looking for. Once upon a time I lamented the lack of hillbilly models (in resin, specifically). Well, lament I shall no more. I bought a blister named Hillbilly Boys, out of which Junior is the first to be painted. Just what I was looking for indeed. So that was nine models to be painted for the gang, and two down now. The next one is underway (as well as a Courser who I'm painting on the side while the current Wastelander model is drying). The church is making progress as well, one layer of paint a day. Once all surfaces are prepped with their basic colors, I'll aim to switch the church to my main project until it's finished. Until then, my focus remains on the hillbillies.

You cannot field these without background music - and only playing Dueling Banjos....

Nope. Not my kind of music. So I did investigate. Pretty much what I expected, so... success? Banjo music all sounds the same to me.

Nope, doesn't look familiar. Haven't seen that before. So, that means I know which colors to paint Uncle Herbert's banjo later today. Talk about good timing. Anyway... Update time! Pappy Jebediah is painted: Also the Institute Courser is finished: Next up, Uncle Herbert and Red Mane Zeke.
