Thanks, all.
@hubbe: I try to avoid too much green and I definitely do not want to go traditional plague marine, all in green. My idea is that the troops, vehicles etc. have a dry shell covering all kinds of nasty, and only in openings will the pus seep through and give a greenish, yellowish colour. This is also why I'm presently struggling with the flesh tones of exposed heads, because I can't use something too pale that won't contrast to the armour, and green is a no-go. I'll show you a few tests soon.

It's been quite a while, but that doesn't mean I haven't worked on my army. I'll try to keep the words to a minimum and just show you where I am. My first Terminator has been finished. A few modifications and some chipping: The rest of the unit has had their rust and copper applied, and some of them have their armour on the way: Then there are the rank and file: And the Hellbrute and the Daemon Prince have had their bases finished, so it's the spray can for them as the next step. Note the now beefed up bayonet rod for the Hellbrute:
For Christmas I got a Predator, and in a frenzy of creativity with loads of GS and magnets I assembled it to work as either Predator or Rhino:
As I'm turning 40 in just a few days, a friend of mine gave me a Maulerfiend, and it is under construction. Obviously it'll get the GS treatment and a suitable Nurglish belly. Here's a first taste:
I'll keep you posted as the projects progress, but I'm not the most regular of posters, sorry.

That's really turning into something special. Can't wait to see them up close and personal - or perhaps down a gun-barrel!

More work done, and now I actually have units for the basic requirements of the codex. I completed these guys to get there: I'm also on my way on the Hellbrute (rust, armour and flesh done, but not bronze parts): ...and I've undercoated the Daemon Prince and the Predator. They have also got the first few layers of rust, but not enough to warrant photos.

These are great and very inspirational- I have been given a FW great unclean one and may use him as the basis of a nice Nurgley horde, I love your colour scheme and will probably copy (steal!) it FK

I'm flattered, FK. We definitely have to join forces to show that rot can be more than just green!

Really looking good, my only concern would be the "flat" white surfaces. Perhaps you could experiment with just the slightest hint of a rotting greenish brown towards some edges and connecting "flats" ?- and thanks for the game the other day, great fun. I was called out for work two hours after you left Luckily my shift ended just ten minutes later, so I could pass on the torch to the next guy.

So, the Hellbrute is finally finished: Next stop is going to be more Marines, my magnetised Predator/Rhino (rust is already done) and a few more terminators. I'll let you know how things progress...

I really like the sense of depth where the "pilot" of the Hellbrute is visible. It looks as if that maw could spread further open for him - to climb out and spread Nurgles gifts single-handedly if he just gets angry enough to do so. Your conversions & paint-jobs are very impressive without overdoing it with slime, rust and general "gribblyness". This look feels almost dry yet rotten which is probably not easy to achieve. And I am glad to see that you also care a lot about the bases - something that often gets neglected if so much effort is already put into the miniatures. Could you make a group-picture of all your finished Nurgle units so far? And that is an awesome Deamon Prince - please put some paint on him soon...

So. It´s been more than a year since I posted new work here, but that does not mean I haven´t been working. Let me show you what I have finished within that year: Four more CSM, one of them with an auto-cannon. So far I have only completed one unit champion, so the unit contains two auto-cannons, but I have another champion coming up. By the way, it was quite nice to do the auto-cannon here since it's been ages since I´ve done a metal mini (it´s an old one I stumbled on at my local supplier). The unit of terminators. They were actually where it all began, but other stuff got finished first. However, now they´re here in all their glory. I am especially pleased with the champion´s modified axe. My Predator which by clever use of magnets can be turned into a Rhino. It stands as a Predator in my display cabinet, simply because I love its bulk in that configuration. Turrets, tower and cannon can all rotate freely. On the green barrels, I experimented with a new technique (whose name I can't remember): I painted rust almost all over first, then covered several places with blu tac, painted the green all over and then removed the blu tac. I think the standard way of doing that is by using salt, but I took a chance and it worked (although it was a bit tricky to remove all the blu tac and not scratch the model). And finally, my Daemon Prince. I think I´ll just let pictures speak for themselves. I'm basically happy with the result, although the colour difference between armour and skin isn't that big - it turns him a little monochromatic. So here's what I have completed so far, as requested by Goldark (good to see you here!): I just used a sheet as background and must find a better solution for next time, but at least it gives you an idea of where I am. Next projects? I'm still working on the Maulerfiend (I'll show you soon), but I've also found a Dust Tactics Sturmkonig which I'm now converting into a Forgefiend by using components left over from the Maulerfiend and loads of GS and other parts. Of course, there are also more CSM coming, as well as some Plague Zombies from Mantic Games. Oh, and another Rhino and a Land Raider. It'll all take YEARS so don't hold your breath. Cheers, Q

Cool stuff mate - really happy to see the creations, they look great. The deamon prince is ace. Perhaps one should dismember as many as possible and use the part for more servitors for the machine god......

Awesome collection. It's good to see a group photo, too. Makes it so much better than just the individual models (which are great, but you know, together they're even better).
