Finally got a model finished for my 30k project. It's a long fang pack leader which is counting as sergeant in a heavy support squad: Took a few attempts to get the power axe looking sort of ok. Still not 100% with it but I've had enough faffing about with it now.

Cheers Bob. Enjoying recycling the model collection into something I'm actually going to use. The 30k side of things seems so much more balanced. So I can't wait to get a game with these!

Well no hobby time really since the last update with work and the family until now. Decided I wasn't going to let another week go by without making some progress. Other than basing I've finished 4 SW's, 2 have just got their undercoat of dark grey on. The rest have had their metal bits blocked in and the fur as well and then a liberal wash with the black GWS wash all over. Just need to get the red blocked in pick out extra details and then sort out the grey. So a real sense of achievement to finally get the bulk of them much closer to being finished that they previously were.
I've also glued the IG executioner plasma cannon together trimming off the back bit that normally slots into the turret. With a bit of gs and milliput mix plus a bit of superglue I've hopefully attached it fairly firmly to an old metal annihilator Pred turret. I hope it'll stick and if it looks good there will be several more being made. Just need to make sure there's no droop of the weapons.
I've also started shaving off the aquila from a Stormlord super heavy. Which has lead to a few close shaves with a scalpel and my fingers. Pics in the morning

Nice paint but if you think undrilled gun barrels look bad Think it's looking alright. Just need to decide if I should stick some power cells on the back of the turret. If the Pred can't power it I don't think a couple of Duracells are going to help

+1 on the undrilling of barrels All my other barrels are drilled but due to these being metal and I'd have to bore out most of the metal to make it look even reasonable I'm just painting them black. If they were cast up in resin then they'd get drilled out.

If they were cast up in resin then they'd get drilled out. The alternative is to sleeve a bit of plastic (or preferably ally) tube over the ends of the barrels...

Will see what I can do in the long run but for now I'm going to just paint them black. The jacket idea is the most likely one to see fruition.
