Think my target weigh should be maybe 16 stone or 224lbs?
That gives me 60lbs to drop which given 1 or 2 lbs a week is a healthy weight loss I'm hoping to drop in say 18 months. Better off giving myself plenty of leeway rather than aiming too high and never hitting.

Really sensible advice Steve, that's how I'm doing it, slowly and steadily or else you just give up after not hitting realistic targets, especially when, some weeks you may stay the same or put weight back on. The way I'm looking at it is that at the end of each month I want to be a bit lighter than I was at the start of the month, that'll do for me!

I put 2lb on and this week and, coupled with my daughter and granddaughter coming to stay at the weekend (baking cakes with a 3 year old? Home cooked food and lots of it? Ice cream at the seaside? ) means I will most likely put on weight again this week but Monday morning will have a line drawn under it and will start again (I'm still 5 or 6lb lighter than I was a month ago so I'm not too concerned!) Yup. Me and the boss have taken the rather drastic measure of declaring February a dry month. It's starting to hurt already but hopefully we'll make a hole in this little tire I've got round my waist

Yes Bob it is bloody hard indeed, why does food have to taste so nice? lol I think sometimes I should take up smoking, that curbs your appetite right? Joking of course... FK

Yup I weighed in too. Cutting the alcohol for a week yielded results. 13st 9lb this morning.
No funny diet or starvation. Just by cutting out the beer.

All gone now though, back to normal, let's get started again shall we Paul? FK

Dropped half a pound. Not really tried to do much this week and the wife keeps baking yummy things so happy it wasn't a gain!!!

I'm looking at it that as long as I don;t gain again I'll be happy as even a 1 lb a week loss will lose me nearly 4 stone in a year! And I'm sure I can lose more than that occasionally!

Back in the right direction with another 1lb lost. Got introduced to something called a TRX workout today. Apparently it was designed by a US Navy Seal as a way to keep toned when on tour and involved using a strap mounted to a pivot point and using your body weight and leverage as the resistance. The seal used a tank, me i had a nice hook on a gym wall. 30 minutes of TRX and i am a broken man..everything hurts, but in the good way. Muscles are fatigued to hell and back!
