Well I might as well get the planning side of this started. After a rummage there seems to be quite a lot. This army will be heading over for my brother after it's painted.
I'm going to list what makes up the collection and equivalent values if bought today ...
Lords/Heroes: 1 night goblin boss (£6.15) 1 wd sub goblin + oddgit + 2 oop heroes ... going to class these as the goblin boss with sword (4x £8.20)
Core: 200 goblins ... there's 20 in a goblin regiment box (10x £20.50) 20 spider riders ... there's 10 in a box (2x £20.00) 1 set plastic fanatics ... there's a few odd extra ones but not enough for full units (£9.25)
Special: 2 spear chukka's (2x £18.50) 110 snottlings ... 17 come in a pack so that's 6.5 packs (6.5x £12.30) 1 herd squig hoppers (£20.50) 2 night goblin squig herds (2x £15)
Rare: 1 snot pump wagon (£24.00) 1 giant (£32.50) 5 stone trolls (5x £13.80)
There's extra bit's but I've kept it as close to full unit's as possible. I'm really looking forward to painting up the snottling bases and the pump wagon.

Hmmm ... It looks like I'm going to have to do a fair few test models to work out how to paint these. Ideas at the moment range between red/brown/dark blue/dirty yellow really want to avoid the black units. Though it might look cool doing them black with old school red weapons.
A difficult one really, but this is one reason why I've started trying to work out what to do now rather than in January.

Old school would look cool as would red robes. Maybe with the typical black and white pattern around the edge of the hood. I am going to steal carols idea for the weapons and use averland sunset with sepia wash over it. With the red, it might work better if you go for a deep red robe..a more khornate type red, if you catch my meaning.

Been talking over the paint job with my brother for the Goblins and he's given me pretty much free reign on the paint scheme. However he likes the look of the spider riders, so I'm guessing they'll be getting done within the 1st couple of months. The Squigs were also looked at for a long time. Need to play around with the skin colour to make sure these don't turn out too dark.

Squigs work well with a base of Macharius Orange, washed with Baal Red, and then re-highlighted Macharius again Leaves them quite bright, in total contrast with the Gobbos etc and they stand out well on the tabletop.

Been discussing the Goblin army with my brother and he's wanting something big as a centre piece. So he's trying to decide between the FW's Colossal Squig or Squig Gobba. This is quite exciting for me as it's been ages since I've tackled a big FW model.

Yikes, yeah those are monstrous! How about the uber-spider as well? He's initially wanting the Night Goblins worked on and then look at expanding into the other types of Goblins. So once the Spider Riders get added into the mix the big spider thing will probably be something that he randomly turns up with.

I know we've got £30 a month to play with would it be ok to roll 2 months worth into a single combined Jan/Feb initial project?
Really want to work on a single unit which would be a unit of 50 Night Goblins with 3 Fanatics (2.5 x £20.50 + £9.25 = £60.50). Batch painting units, I can make sure the colours come out the same. I'm thinking of having slight colour variance between the units.
What do you guys think, is it ok?

I think so, but would be more like this:
January = Spent £0, Bank £30 February = Spent £60.50, Bank -£0.50
So you won't get any painting points this month, but next month instead. Also it'll be then upto you whether you want to get them as 1 big unit or 2 small units that can be made into one. The in game points cost for amount painted won't change of course.

Ok well I'll bank the £30 for Jan and in Feb I'll do the bigger amount then. Right now I need to wok out what some of these Goblins are ... I think from l>r ... standard, musician, champion, ?wizard? Here's the full unit with bases gritted and sealed (I've started undercoating a few so I can test colours).

That's a horrifying amount of pointy goblins! I think painting that many in one go would drive me insane!

I think it is a big boss and not a wizard, but I could be wrong.
