Here is a sign up thread for what FK dubbed the "Tale of Fantasy Gamers"!
The premise is simple, each month those taking part have a budget of £30 a month to spend on building up a fantasy army, right now most likely Warhammer. Each month the models bought need to be painted and points will be awarded for the progress of each force.
Now I was thinking of not starting this till January, so think of it as a new army for a new year.
Rules
£30 buy limit for a month, unlimited number of units that will buy.
Use full price GW or any other for limit, whether you pay that much or not. e.g High Elf Archers are £20 from GW but £16.60 from Wayland. That will count as £20 towards the £30 limit, you just have piece of mind you got them cheaper. Just a way of keeping things trackable and fair.
If you currently own the models that you wish purchase but are unpainted you can "buy" them instead. So if you have a load of Skaven Clanrats in a box waiting to be painted they will count £20.50 towards your £30.
Essentials like glue, paint and any rules don't count towards the price limit.
Any left over cash from the previous month can be saved to be spent in a following month. e.g one month you buy £20.50 on Vampire Counts Zombies which leaves £9.50 in the bank, so next month you buy a Mortis Engine for £37.50 leaving £2 in the bank.
Each challenger needs to maintain a blog for ease of tracking with a post in this thread at the end of the month for points tracking.
Points will be given on the last day of the month, 5 per unit fully painted, 3 for partially painted, 1 for building. So the only way you don't get any points is not get any models or leaving them in the box (impossible right?).
Can go on as long as you want, but try and keep in mind that the whole point is to have a decent sized army.
You can choose to do more than one army, just more for you to do in a month. I can put you down as multiple separate entries and score appropriately.
You can over spend in a month but not constantly. e.g spend £35 one month means -£5, so only £25 next month. Can't then try to spend over that again right away. The spend limit is just to regulate things, don't get into the red too much.
Finally this is primarily for everyone to build up a force together and be inspired by the others, so have fun! Also when signing up specify the army you wish to start just so everyone knows!
Challengers (there is no limit, the more the merrier)
1. Lord Draconiroth - Lizardmen
2. stretch - Ogre Kingdoms
3. Farseer Kyladras - Skaven
4. doomzombie - Chaos Warriors
5. The Irontooth - Dwarfs
6. Zog - Chaos Warriors
