Thanks, I'll see what I can do. Had a small game with 750 pts on Friday as part of a doubles with my mate who had 750 Iron Hands allied with me. I took a battlewagon with 9 Megas and a Warboss in mega, a trukk with 11 sluggas and a nob with power klaw and a unit of 10 grots with runtherd. Apparently there's a heck of a lot of stuff now that beats front armour 14 and even more S8+ AP2 or less! My battlewagon and half my nobs disappeared in the opponent's first turn of shooting, before we had even had a turn! The trukk blew on the second turn of shooting and all the Sluggas died to gunfire in the same turn! The nob lasted 2 more turns after charging a dreadnought, but succumbed next turn, but only after the remnants of my Megas charged in to combat as well, and blew the dread! They could have double-charged the drop pod the dread came out of as well and got another victory point, but I didn't see that option at the time! Shame as had I done so we'd have won and got ourselves in the final! Oh well. Lesson learned? You can't get the mega's into combat quick enough nowadays against all the incoming fire! In fact it appears you can't get anything into combat quick enough any more, as shooting has now been made so powerful with so many overpowered guns! We were facing a combined force of Imperial Fists and Tau in a gun-line, and the only combat in the whole game was against two drop-podded dreadnoughts that attacked our deployment zone and thus were in reach of their own charge, not ours! So my Mega-nob army may well be in for a beating on every outing nowadays! Oh well, a game's a game and it was quite funny! And at least I am still fielding a themed army, which is what appeals to me! Oh and I'm currently painting up 3 mobs of 10 grots at the moment, tedious work for so little points, but I'm batch painting all 35 minis (including 3 runtherds and 2 separate squig hound equivalents) so they may be ready for pics by the end of tomorrow! We'll see how I get on. HG

LOL already more than half painted mate! Just the 3-green layering to go on the skin, eyes teeth and claws (and any other detailing) and then basing. Will still take a few hours mind!

I hope you've drilled all the grot blaster barrels out- just to tip you over the edge of insanity in case painting them already hasn't lol

This edition is indeed weighted more for shooting than anything else, although to be fair the pairing of Tau and bolter-drill Fisties are the dirtiest combo's in the game, apart from the obscene Tau-Dar.

It's OK Paul, all barrels already drilled! Just about to start the third green highlight for the Grots. Then the teeth etc.

Apparently there's a heck of a lot of stuff now that beats front armour 14 and even more S8+ AP2 or less! Lesson learned? You can't get the mega's into combat quick enough nowadays against all the incoming fire! Have to see if these rumours about tellyporting meganobz pan out, 'til then armour plates, red paint and a screen of warbikes? We were facing a combined force of Imperial Fists and Tau in a gun-line, and the only combat in the whole game was against two drop-podded dreadnoughts that attacked our deployment zone and thus were in reach of their own charge, not ours! Was looking at BoLS earlier, someone had done a breakdown of the armies attending the Warhammer 40,000 Adepticon Championship, vanilla beakies, panzee & fish'ed comprised over half the armies taking part, only about 3% took orks - so probably not considered that effective any more. I can't find my 6th ed book but can dredds charge out of drop pods on the turn that they deploy? So my Mega-nob army may well be in for a beating on every outing nowadays! Oh well, a game's a game and it was quite funny! And at least I am still fielding a themed army, which is what appeals to me! HG Fingers crossed for tellyporting meganobz

OK been having a go at getting some more of my Orks finished. I've now got 2 mobs of Tank Busters ready to go, here's some pics and explanations: First off, the latest GW box of Tank Bustas with 3 Bomb Squigs, including Nob and Tank Hammer, Paul very kindly originally painted these for me last year (or year before, can't remember now!) but they got a little worse for wear since then, so I did a quick retouch/repaint as necessary. Next, some coverted Tank Bustas, including the second Nob, given in trade by Stretch, there were more in the mob but they seem to have been utilised elsewhere! These have also been repainted and rebased. Then the previous metal TB's from GW with converted Rokkit Launchas and a Tank Hammer (to make them Codex worthy) Next two of my old conversions, on the left two Gorka Morka boyz and the third is an old WFB Orc, and finally another current plastic Ork with Tank Hammer. Incidentally, the mace on the WFB Orc, with it's spikes cut off, is the basis for my two Tank Hammer conversions too. Next are 6 Rogue Trader Ork Rokkit Launchas, waste not want not I say! And last but not least, my converted Squig Bombs, these have been shown before on an older site, but here for completeness. And now the "HG Shot" C&C welcome as always. HG

Oh and as there's 25 of them, that's 2 mobs, one of 11 and one of 12, one with 2 Tank Hammers and 1 with 1. HG Edit: Forgot to say, I varnished them today, using a Humbrol Matt Varnish as I had run out of Testors, and it's left a small "Dusting" on all the models, which I'm not very happy about but can't really do anything for now as I am NOT stripping all this lot back to base again! I made sure there were warm, dry conditions too. Must just be the spray can, which I'm now going to reserve for scenery pieces only, I have two Army Builder Matt Sprays on order now waiting delivery next week! HG
