Another new forum? I had to make a new account and everything! Well, been back at uni now for 5 weeks, and I have only just been able to crack open the paints to do a bit of work on the Hellbrute. I wish I had more to share with people, but sadly I have just had way way way too much to do. If I am honest I shouldn't really have done any painting at all, but you know how it is when you get the itch to paint! Hopefully after the new year I will get more time to paint, but who knows!

Actually what did you use/do to get the legs that colour?

Magic and fairy dust. I'm pretty sure he used that on all of his models.

Haha! It's literally three colours. Dark skin (or whatever the new equivalent is), then cadian flesh and Bleached bone (Ushabti bone?). And I just started with Dark Flesh and mixed my way up. So you know, the usual, 70/30 Dark flesh/Cadian flesh and progressively worked towards bleached bone. The bleached bone is the very tip of the highlight, used sparingly! Oh and you know, the mandatory Magic and fairy dust! Haha, Brilliant! I'm half way through the torso area of skin, will take a pic later and show you how bad it looks at the middle of the process

Cheers bud, I ask as it looks a lot like how the Mantic guys have painted the Plague for Deadzone. I haven't decided if I wanted to do them the same but easier to ask you than them!

Ha ha yeah. The thought hadn't alluded me. I will have you know I'm a northerner. I mean, a northern fairy, but a northerner none the less! I'm always happy to help if I can, not really sure how much help I can be though!

Light's terrible but this is a pic of the skin on the torso area so far. It's at that mid point, where it is sorta coming together, but also looks really bad!

So comparing that to the legs you've got the next layer and highlight to do at least? Must admit I was in two minds about how I wanted mine to look.

There's a final touching over with the cadian flesh. So the raised areas will have another layer. I then highlight with Bleached bone/cadian flesh mix then Glaze over it with a very thinned down Dark flesh. I then re touch the highlights. Job done! Edit: oh and of course the fairy dust can be applied liberally at any point!
