How are you going to paint the scales? I'm not sure. Part of me wants to leave them like that as I have highlighted them, but part of me is thinking about a spot colour or making them darker... Might hold off from changing it for the sake of it until the rest of them are done... Thoughts?

Both make sense. I guess you could wait until the rest of the model is painted to see if armor and feathers and claws and teeth are enough spots of color.
The reason I asked is because I have a hard time imagining a scale color that looks both natural and combines well with green.

Exactly, although I do think I'll have to for the bigger lizards. But that'll probably be more patterning rather than a distinctive scale colour.

I actually like them as they are.
It is not unnatural for lizards (in real life) to be more or less one colour.
And even if they are a different colour top and bottom the transition of colours is mostly smooth instead of harsh as most Lizardmen are painted.
Looking forward to the rest of the paintjobs.

I've slowed with these two currently, mainly due to getting the Scourge painted up for their first game tomorrow night, but I have done the Saurus' shield and started all the gold (he likes his bling!). More pics soon!

Nice. All green looks good with that kind of gold and red ornaments.

Although I'm unsure how I'm going to do the feathers on the Skink Priest, any suggestions?
