One amusing thing is where there's a digital weapon listed I went to the effort of adding a ring or amulet of one form or another. I got pulled up for slipping in an extra couple of points and had the satisfaction of being able to show WYSIWYG. Surprisingly simple to do as well just a small ball of gs place on the finger slightly flattened and then the end of a ball point pen tube or some other small cylinder pressed into it gives you a round gem with a rim. I wouldn't mind finding some thin tubing with a square or diamond profile to be able to add other shaped gems using the same technique.

Nice job. I do the same with the Revell plastic glue pipe. Really handy tool to have, cost me nothing extra, and gives consistently sized and actually round impressions. I don't know how likely you are to find that in other shapes than round, though. Doesn't seem like something anyone needs, as in a different shape adds nothing but cost over a round tube. However, if you happen to be in a position to prove me wrong, I'd be quite happy. I could use those, too.

Sooo ... The rest of 2016 went somewhere? It's a new year and I think it's time for a "Fresh" Fresh Start. Currently working hard to get my hobby space sorted out. I'm wanting to hide it in plane sight in the main living room as there's a little girl claiming my man cave for a bedroom. I've got a few big deep shelves in a unit I'm thinking of enclosing with doors.

Today found my brother over at mine for most of the day. He set me the challenge of sorting out a lustrian bb team from random WHFB models including a kroxagor which was missing it's tail arm and the hand off the other arm.
I've managed to locate another kroxagor which has all the bits and used an instantmould press mould to copy the missing bits. It's sort of worked though I've got to do a lot of carving to get rid of excess gs and the weapon the hands were holding. The tails come out alright as well.
We've also assembled his new plastic skaven team and I've finished cleaning up my human and orc teams from the game. I've also found sat in a jar of dettol a metal skaven team (well 4 runners, 11linemen and a rat ogre) which will need some conversion work. I've already converted up a thrower by using instantmould to copy a dark elf throwers hand to replace a linesmans hand. I've also started adding extra pads and spikes for a blitzer. These seem to be working so I'll do another blitzer and thrower. Then it's time to locate a plastic rat ogre to convert up one for my brothers team.
I was meant to finish painting my Custodes by now but that seems to be a none starter at the moment.

Cool, be sure to post shots of the models. I'm in a Bloodbowl mood myself at the moment and certainly wouldn't mind seeing pictures.

Currently fighting with photobucket. Think I need to find a better photo storage provider.
Would host via the B&C but they don't like pics of Xenos and none 30k/40k models.

Nice work. Always good to see more flagellant conversions. Those models have so much potential. Looking forward to those assassins.

So hobby butterfly hits again. I've started the assembly of my SW Legion force. I'd always told myself I'd never include Thunder Wolf Cavalry in any SW force. However I had an idea for converting up The Wolf-kin of Russ and a box of start collecting SW's landed in my lap at a decent discount price. I've had a play around with the TWC and worked out why I hate the models so much. They're whip thin and look more like Rats than big Wolves as can be seen with the heads in the pic below: The far right one has been bluetac'd together while the other 2 have had a chunk of sprue slapped in the joint at the back of their heads. I think this helps really bulk up the look of them. Next up it's time to try and widen the body. I was a bit nervous of messing this up but I think it's done ok: While taking the pics I thought about adding spacers to the shoulders as well. I tried it with bluetac (which is quickly becoming my biggest handy hobby tool) and liked how it looked. The whole model I'm hoping is moving out of the mount look and firmly into the proper carnivore look. In the end I just went with my gut. I've now started the slow process of gs'ing the model which I'm really happy with. First model I've actually stopped before getting my prints all over the gs. Not sure why but I started on the lower back: My last pic for the night is a bit scrappy in quality but I think helps show the size of the models:

Looking good. I never considered rat or wolf anatomy so I have no idea what stock thunderwoofies resemble closest, but nice job on beefing it up.

And the hobby butterfly decided to appear again. Though I'd got myself really into doing the DW and that's now faltered. Then my SW's in Legion form seemed to get me motivated hobbywise and then it migrated to beefing up a pair of Thunder Wolves. Now it seems I really must get back on the scenery building bandwagon. Guess it doesn't help I've not been able to sit down for any length of time for the last few months with the back being out of action again. So I've migrated from painting to kit bashing to gs'ing and now working on small models has stopped. So why scenery? Well I've been watching a LOT of YouTube videos which have been reminding me how much fun scratch building and converting can be. So "Rubbish In Rubbish Out", "The Terrain Tutor" and "Luke's APS" are all to blame for my coming back to the scenery building fold. While they are aimed at a beginner/entry level their enthusiasm is helping get me motivated which is what I'm currently lacking I'm hoping once the back settles I can get back to detail work on small miniatures but for now even if it's just getting the bare bones done with some scenery which I can then add more detailed stuff to later is better than nothing.

I for one am always happy to see scenery pictures. What helps me with my many switching projects is to let go of the guilt of never finishing anything (in due time, at least) by focusing on and enjoy whatever I'm doing at the moment. Started projects aren't going anywhere. You can always go back to them. There's no hurry.

Lots of plans but little time to actually get stuff done.
I've wanted to really make 2017 the year I get my hobby foo back to previous output levels. Really not working out like that with my back playing up and family stuff getting in the way.
I just want to complete atleast one project this year. I don't care what it is but just that something is finished. I've got a feeling it might be Bloodbowl related.
