Another little endeavor… I got kind of involved into the Pulp City kickstarter (I got me a bunch of Grimm, as I adore the figs) and I wanted to get a head-start on some cool scenery for the figs... First off I made a bunch of palettes from wooden coffee-stirrers . Three sets in total, different sizes and lay-outs. And since I didn't have Pulp City figs yet, I used my Barry for the size-comparison And I decided to make a small taco-stand/building : Horror-vacui obliges, I covered those large white areas with some graffiti. And for something different, I looked up California concert-posters from the 80's And again the Barry pic : In the meantime, the Kickstarter has been delivered, and I have painted up most of my warband : Grimminions The impressively imposing powerhouse Grimm BunBun Grimmbiote, Supreme Grimm and Grimm Lee Chan Gravito Grimm, Grimmrock and the Toxic Grimmvenger And finally Spartagrimm : The whole infestation: And John, the leader of the gang In the meantime, ordered the rest of the Grimm (all possible Grimm figs) through my LGS… These were very much fun to paint up, and I can hardly wait to get my hands on the rest of them…

So I had a request from Lorddraconiroth on how I painted up my scenery (I do realize it was in another thread, but he’ll doubtlessly find it ) Last weekend I scored a couple of toy containers on a flea market (they were on a truck, but easily removed with some determination… Over a Chaos Black Primer I painted a first layer of Snot Green (it won’t cover equally, but that’s a problem which’ll solve itself over the next steps) Over that I liberally drybrushed a layer of Camo Green Followed by a drybrush which was a applied more carefully of 50/50 Camo Green/Golden Yellow And after that I started adding details, painting the bare metal parts in Boltgun Metal, and adding printed out company logos. Up to the bit with the logos, these containers were perfectly suitable both for Infinity and Pulp City, but now they’ll only be a Of real use in Pulp City (situated in the 80’s) I’m afraid… Both containers with a crate which also came on the truck, and an oil-keg on fire (milliput flames) : Especially the burning vat reminds me of 80’s movies when they show the darker parts of a town/city, so it should fit perfectly with Pulp City. And to finish off, some Grimm inspecting the new scenery :

Spartagrimm is indeed one of the funniest, but Grimm Bunbun is at the very least a close second.
@ doom : a group shot once I’ve finished making stuff?
Well, ‘s going to be difficult to make piccies once I’m dead, burnt and scattered in the wind…

There is that, but until then group pics as and when you make new stuff mate Ahhh, now I understand... Something like this? All the pulp-city-specific terrain, and all of my Grimm In the meantime I decided to dirty up the containers with rust-stains; you should be able to see the result in the piccie above. Still not sure whether I'd better prime the cars and repaint them, or leave them as-is... For the moment I seem to like 'm just as they are now Cheers Q

Yeah I just found it! Where did you get the logos from though? They just printed out on paper and stuck on?

Think they could do with "Pimping out" or having spray gang logo`s on them or even picture`s like some people have, a rebel flag on the roof or bonnet. Just thinking out loud Quase, but i think it would add more character to your games.

Lord Draconiroth Indeed, those logos are, just like the concert posters and the graffiti on the Taco shack found on google-image-search, printed on paper, cut out with scissors and glued into place with PVA glue. The main challenge here is to find stuff which feels like it comes from the 80s. That’s why I took, for the containers, company logos straight from 80s movies (only one of them situated in California though, but that’s what containers are for, innit? To ship stuff from one place to another. @ doomzombie Yes, those cars, they are very clean aren’t they? My main problem is that if I paint ‘m I’d need to protect the windows (I tried that on my Happy Holidays shack for Infinity, and the paint somehow got behind the masking tape). Maybe just dirty them up with pigments? Just a little here and there, around the wheels and the underside of the doors…. Hadn’t thought about graffiti-ing them up though… Mind you, they can’t get too mad-max-y dirty/banged up/tooled out either. The setting is 80s California city, not some post-apoc wasteland
