OK, based on the success of the main game on Sunday at the Euromeet, and subject to rules tweaks, I am "creating" a Travel Version of WJL for use at the Mini-meet in May, where space will be a defining factor, and possibly even for transporting to Europe for next years main meet! So far I have worked out scale, 12" = 6cm, and have built my first ship, a Mini-Da Black Squig, and a Mini-Docking facility. And here's the pics: Da Black Squig in the foreground And with Badrukk on the dock And a "Barry" shot for scale I'm planning 16 - 20 ships in total! The game will be played out on a table top, but the Krews will be 40k models, just for fun! and so we can actually see the boarding actions etc. There will be some portable "decks" so we can fight the Boarding Actions in front of us! So everyone that is coming to the May '14 Mini-meet, make sure you have your Krews with you! C&C welcome!

Sounds like a plan all! Paladin, You need a Kaptin, a Ship's Doc/Painboy and 5 Krew. Obviously the Epic scale models are glued to the ship for game play and we'd use the 40K scale mini's for combat! I can send you an Epic Ork Nob for the Kaptin and 6 assorted Ork Boyz for the Krew, together with an AoBR Nob and 6 Boyz for the 40k scale Krew if you want? Zog, let me know what the Uncharted Seas stuff is like please. If they have ships that would fit on a 6cm x 3cm base then they'd be ideal mate. And as for a Kraken, well ... LOL Max, I don't really know the Star Wars game, although I saw both the Star Wars and Star Trek games over the weekend so I think I know what you mean. Not sure that we'll need bases to be honest as a card/plasticard base 6cm x 3cm will be sufficient for the ships. Movement cards will definitely be a plus though if you can help there again, as with the Waagh! Air Ace! cards. Let me have a think about what is needed and I'll PM you when I have something, if that';s OK with you? And an Epic Ork base is only about 5 mm wide so I do not propose using individual Epic minis to represent the Krew as they'll be too "fiddly" and prone to going missing too easily! Hubbe, I am using Epic minis for the Krew so I guess we're in Epic Scale by default, yeah! Draco, you could say that I reckon, LOL, you up for this one as well then? FK, go for it mate, you know the rules now and the dimensions, and have a bit of hobby Mojo floating around after the weekend, so <<winds him up>> "Off you go lad!" HG

'Uncharted seas' is a lot smaller than 'Epic' size.

Draco, you could say that I reckon, LOL, you up for this one as well then? Making the hull is easy enough, it's then just getting the appropriate scale bits to make a mini-version of my bike boat. Definitely worth investigation...
