With the impending relaunch of Necromunda by GWS I think it's time I got back into the hobby. The big change for me this time around is my eldest son is finally old enough to take an active part in building and painting stuff. We've been looking at old White Dwarfs and browsing Pinterest together. Plus going through the territory generator. I decided on trying out a Chem Pit ... And my son raided the bits boxes and found these fan bits fit ontop of some jelly tubs nicely to make some sort of air scrubbers/air intakes ... We're trying out some materials I've not used before for example the drinking straw connectors in the top pic which are bright pink. If I can get paint to stick on them we'll be on to a winner. I've got a shed load of them (90 deg bends, T junctions and straight joints) and would love them to supplement the copper fixings and water pipe I've been playing around with ... I can do all 3 pics with the pipe/fittings I have to hand. I think the more variety in pipe sizes I can get the better it'll look.

I found that putting a thin coat of PVA glue over plastic straws and the like helped give the paint something to stick to. Even undercoat spray peels off that stuff real easy

Everything (bar the pipes) got sprayed with a cheap car spray undercoat and has been left for ages to see if it'll come off. The signs are good with no pealing so I'm happy to incorporate the connectors into my builds.
I've also ended up with quite a few model railway kits mainly bridges, footbridges and a few train turntables. The local train hobby shop did have a bits box and now it's my bits box.
Currently I'm cutting down an A1 sheet of 5mm foamboard into strips a bulkhead height in width. I'm also chopping down some CoD kits to match the same height. Combined they should work nicely together.
I've also worked out how to cobble together stairs out of the kits so it won't just be ladders to get around.

Your stuff looks really good so far! I love cobbled-together terrain (and the fact that you introduce your offspring to our wonderful hobby)! Looking forward to seeing it painted...

Loving the terrain SW1, i`m also happy that GW have revisited Necromunda. Will be digging out what i have from back in the day, but at the moment most of my hobby stuff is packed away...............Doing some redecorating over the next few months, so hobby on hold until i`m done.
Nice to see one of your son`s getting stuck in.
