Since Photobucket has destroyed my last topic... here's a new one with pictures from a different provider First we have a camouflaged Primaris Marine (he's a captain in standard armour): ... and a squad of 8 Grymn: There is more to come... However, if you are keen to see my Space Dwarf conversions, they are here: stevinso.imgur.com/

As you may remember from my old thread, I sculpted a bunch of Halfling Snipers for my Squat army: I was encouraged to get them cast up... so I did and here is the result: If anyone is interested in purchasing a set (or two) they will soon become available from here: insoemporium.blogspot.co.uk/The legs to convert your terminators into Exo armour will also become available at some point (from the same link ):

Painting has begun on the first set of snipers: and I have also finished the first mercenary for my Martian patrol; Roddy the tracker (he's a hybrid):

Glad to so see that you keep going despite the 'incident' with Photobucket. I am currently uploading my pictures to Google and will soon update my thread... In the meantime: - The Primaris looks nice and even very "modern" with this paintjob! - I have always resisted buying Grymn but your Squad is really sweet. Maybe add one extra layer on the brown parts of their armor? As soon as the new codex for Astra Militarum is here I will look for an excuse to get me some Grymn as well. - Roddy looks cool as well - he will feel at home in just about any Hive and the lower the levels get the less he will stick out... - Your snipers are cool as well but a bit too "leafy" for my taste. The casting-quality looks really good and I wish you all the best for your little startup!

Cheers The armour on the Grymn has edge highlighting but my appalling photography has made them disappear ... they could be a little more harsh but then I would worry that the other areas would seem flat... Hmmm...

I looked again and can actually see it now - I think they are fine as they are! If you don't want to add a stronger highlight you could try out to darken parts of the armor to add some extra depth.

Now that I have some snipers, a Jokaero and some priests, it's high time I got my arse in gear and started painting some of the basic troops... so that is what I have done . Here is the first (rough) base-coat on the first squad of No.2 platoon:

They're coming along nicely.
Did you cast the models yourself or outsource the job?

I out-sourced any casting to Hysterical Miniatures

Part of army building is fitting things into lists (whether you game or not). Now that 8th Edition has properly surfaced and the new codexes are starting to appear, I have built a list for my Squat army. This is less a list to game with and more like a way to find spaces for my existing army as a whole:

I've started the next veteran squad. These will all have berets. The main weapons will be shotguns and meltaguns. There will be a comms trooper and the sgt will have upgraded close combat weapons (probably a bolt pistol and power weapon):
