Ok guys, so as we don't step on LD's toes with his own planned weekender this thread is for a judge Dredd miniatures game later this year at our house (dates to be arranged to suit all concerned) As in Paul's idea of a Friday night going through the rules, eating, drinking and gaming then onto the weekend where we could do a campaign (JD is designed to be extra cool in campaign gaming) or play other, smaller games (I know me and Tony will be having a game of dark future or 2 so all will be welcome to play that or anything else) So, who is up for this? I have the rulebook and some justice dept models, there are loads of factions you can choose from each having mercenary units that can be attached. This is a useful page with a rules primer containing the basics to download, roster sheet to print and links further down to box sets of all the factions: www.warlordgames.com/free-downloads-judge-dredd-get-you-started-ebook-and-roster-sheet/So yeah, who else is up for this? I will keep a list below of those I know to be definitely wanting to come Paul (FK) using justice departmentTony (doomzombie) Using demonic cabalDaz (Zog) Using justice departmentPaul (Lord Draconiroth) Using the dark judges!

What we will need:
each player will need a 500 credit force+ mercenaries if needed/ wanted (you'll see what I mean when you read the rules but your starting force of 500 credits is more important than mercs as it's much harder for them to earn experience and therefore not as useful in the campaign)
We will need a 4X4 board (it's a skirmish game) with lots of city type terrain- I am looking forward to building this but anyone that wants to bring some suitable buildings/ walkways etc to add on you are most welcome to do so)

Yeah Paul you would be better of buying and assembling (and hopefully painting) the models beforehand so we have more time for gaming and drinking The models are mostly 1 piece metal models with some small amount of assembly here and there. Any idea of a faction you might go with? FK

Right, I'm trying to decide whether to buy the starter box or go for the book and box deal.
I think it's a toss up between justice dept and the angel gang.
I have a folding 4x4 board
Will see when I can get sone scenery sorted...
How crowded does the board need to be?

I've got a folding 4x4 too (and I know where it is after the move too!), scenery is the harder one.

There are scenarios in the book which show terrain set ups but it's up to the players really, vertical movement/ ladders/ walkways are all good as well (especially when you push someone off haha) If you want to know points values of anything let me know (I do know for example that using the 4 dark judges together is over 3000 credits but they are incredibly cool to use ) SO to put that into context, a `typical` street judge on a lawmaster bike would be 300 points, you would get about 11 of them to equal the points of the dark judges, they are rock hard! Or the other extreme- a typical juve from the street punks gang is 10 points (probably 60 or 70 points after adding guns/ armour etc) so you'd need a horde of about 30 or more to take on the dark judges, credits are basically same as points values, each individual dark judge is either 800 or 900 credits... Any pics? I'm sure it'll work though if it's roughly 28mm scale

From what i remember the board does not need to be over crowded, as long as there`s cover..............
Not sure yet on the faction, but i`m split between "The Judda" and "Demonic Cabal". Was looking at the "Angel Gang", so over to you Daz.
Thinking on i`m going for the "Demonic Cabal", please add to my name Paul.

Well if you'll let me use the dark judges, it'll be one at a time against your gangs or a gang up on me. Or I'll have a look to see if anything else takes my fancy.

Paul you can use them all mate, it is on a points system though so using them would mean everyone else had 3,300 points to use against you. The 500 point starter amount is just a suggestion from the rulebook for starter players getting used to the rules etc)
