This is one I'm more curious about!

Oooooh, shiny. Very good design. Not unexpected, since we have an idea what titans look like, but it's good to see GW stuck with the design. It even comes with a banner to hang between its legs. This is one I'm more curious about! Probably the same as Codex Inquisition, if I had to guess. Giving Legion of the Damned to every Imperial army. I don't mind, but I find that rather boring compared to shiny new knights.

If it's just the usual squad then yes. If it's a chance to make a whole Damned Army, then that would be very cool! (if painfully expensive modelwise and likely to lose you friends quicker than using any of the current comp armies)

If it's just the usual squad then yes. If it's a chance to make a whole Damned Army, then that would be very cool! Yeah, like so often lately it's a question of how extensive the content is. People hoped for more with the Inquisition codex. So did I. I just think it may be asking too much from today's GW. They sell one unit choice of Legion of the Damned akin in make up to a Tactical Squad, and they are loath to put out rules for things they don't sell (even if you could convert them easily enough). That's why I'm rather wary of this Legion of the Damned "codex". Do I hope for more? Yes. Do I expect more? No. Rumours are its in next weeks WD Weekly. So a preorder date of 22nd Feb with release on 29th Feb I'd rather have a release on March 1, but I guess we can't have everything.

Annoyingly good point actually, even ignoring the balancing nightmare of a force of entirely 3+ invulnerable saves. Shame...

I don't even see the invulnerable save as all that bad. While we have way more AP3 weapons than in editions past, by amd large, in the end you pay an extra ten points per model for Marines that die just as easily to small arms fire as Tactical Marines. As a specialist unit in another army this is cool, in a force consisting only of Legion of the Damned resilience to power armor piercing weapons should be nicely offset by smaller numbers than a comparable Marine force, probably even more to the detriment of the Legion player.
The most troublesome bit I see is the general ignore cover save they have, which does little against the better armored armies out there but does a number on low quality troops and light skimmers that rely on cover to protect them. I imagine that is something that is not easily balanced, and the ability to remove cover in a big way is why Tau are considered so good (well, it's one factor).
I do think it's cool opening these independent auxiliary forces to all Imperium armies, though. Inquisition, Legion of the Damned, Knights from the looks of things - it's big fun if you play an Imperial army.

I'm hoping they'll eventually do some of the older aliens as a mercenary codex not available to imperial army side of things. It's never going to happen but it would be a fun idea to have a play around with.

The fact that for the first time in 40k history we get knights should give us hope. Maybe not for the immediate future, when you consider that GW started drawing more heavily from Rogue Trader and 2nd ed (and Epic of the time) maybe seven or eight years ago, but they seem determined to return lots of old stuff in new shape. If it existed, there's a real chance (albeit not necessarily high) chance that it will come back.
Would be good to have a bit of non-Imperial love.

I think I want to give GW my money now. Next week can't come soon enough.
I didn't think I'd like the gun shield of the battle cannon going by earlier pictures (no big deal as I like the melta cannon lots), but these pictures make it look decent after all.
