Ever since I had the opportunity to have a few games of Space Hulk with Manus, I have regretted that I didn't buy the game the last time it was printed, but with the re-print those regrets are all in the past. I got the game last Friday, and I have already taken care of the bases for the doors, so I have to move on to the minis. Oh joy. Of course, this does mean that my nurgle project is on hold for some time, but I'll definitely return there when I get tired of 'nids and loyalists. So far only the Marines have been fully assembled, and my plan is to paint them as Blood Angels. For some time I considered nurglifying them, but with all the lovely details already there, I decided not to. They will become my first loyalists ever - that it should ever come to this... So far they've only been sprayed (Warpainter Dragon Red): Tzen's World Eaters might become an inspiration. More to come... (and probably better lit photos, too)

My thoughts exactly when I initially thought of painting mine up as Ultramarines. But they belong in that box so Blood Angels they were destined to be!

The first two Terminators have now been finished. I basically used the guide from White Dwarf, but with the Army Painter red spray paint in stead of GW which I couldn't get locally. The problem with that is that the paint tends to rub off a bit too easily, so in a second I'll repair the paint and the give the models a spray of varnish in the hope that it'll work. I considered chipping the minis, but in the end I went for spanking new as a test and as a contrast to... well, just about everything else that I do. I've also cleaned and assembled a number of genestealers and will undercoat them shortly. My plan for them is a contrasting colour scheme based on the black paint with quite bright highlights - all sprayed glossy - and then bone teeth and claws. Looking forward to testing it out. Stay tuned. And Manus? I'll race you on completion on all the models in the game ;-)

Liking the minis quareni, nicely painted. Can`t wait to see the "Stealers" painted, always had a soft spot for them don`t know why but of all the "Nids" there my favorites. Did`t get SH last time and not got it (pennies very low for hobby) this time, the only way i could afford a copy is if the price dropped or my household bill`s took a break for a month or two(like that`ll ever happen ). So for now i`ll make do with looking at what you guy`s do with them. Doom....

Manus - . And the pressure is mounting: Here's my first completed genestealer for Space Hulk: As you can see, I've decided not to make it of the same fleet as my Tyranid force, but instead opted for glossy beetle-like look. Maybe it doesn't really show clearly in the picture, but I've decided on hard and fast with black undercoat, drybrushing with DA green, Snot green and Scorpion green. Then 'ardcoat for gloss. Once the rain stops and I get som proper light, you might get better pictures - or maybe when I have a few more 'nids to show off. @doom: Thanks for the kind words. That you don't remember them might be because it's been a while since I worked on that army. I shared it on a blog in here, but that has apparently been eaten by servers.

Another Terminator finished (apart from matt and gloss varnish) - here shown with his two friends: And a handful of Genestealers to supplement the first one: I'm sorry about the quality of the photos (too yellow), but I'll post better ones once the weather allows outdoor photography (in a couple of months, probably).

Well, even though they're yeller they still look quite scary What are you using to take the pics with? Most proper cameras can compensate for lighting types if you have a poke around in the menu, and possibly some modern phone cameras too.

Another few Genestealers finished: After the photo, I actually added a few layers to the skulls on the base of the 'stealer on the left and dappled a little Typhus Corrosion on the metal parts. I really love those technical paints...

Nicely done mate, nice addition to what you already have done. Like the middle one, to me look`s like he`s coming through the ceiling and not the floor.................
