This coming Saturday is the release day for the new ork codex, I can't wait to see what it brings for my bad moonz and the new list building challenges I will face.
Apparently not only has Wazdakka been removed from the book there is no way to make bikes troops but not to worry I'll use the model as a (very big!) Warboss on bike and have 2 or 3 big units of bikes as fast attack choices.
Anyone else planning in getting the book for an existing or new army?

Anyone else planning in getting the book for an existing or new army? FK I probably will, I mean it's not as though they release one every five minutes years

According to the latest White Dwarf, looted wagons ARE in despite some people thinking otherwise. Of course, there will be a kit for these things so nobody is put to the trouble of scratchbuilding something way better.

Ordered my codex and cards, also ordered a Gorkonaut too, I have started scratch building one, but thought I'd mix and match GW kit and mine to ease construction of the skratch build. I seem to have run out of time for the bigger projects currently!

Since I never liked the absence of options in the current codex and plastic models for Flash Gitz and Mega Nobz, I'm going to give the new codex a try. From what I read the former got fixed a tiny bit in some places and not at all, or made worse, in some. But for me the difference is clearly in the presence of relics and how that brings back the option to give the Warboss a bit of unique gear, and possibly some options he gets to use with mega armor. The real deciding factor for me is the plastic models, though. I just can't put up with metal models anymore. Paint chipping and transport needs aside, if I think back to the nobs that had a heavy klaw arm with a tiny, flat shoulder to glue to the body, I'm just happy to see Meganobz in plastic, and Flash Gitz, too. The best thing is that my Orks have so far been so easy to paint that I can legitimately hope to get the army painted in a matter of weeks rather than months or years, which is great because I'd like to play with a fully painted army again. I preordered the codex at my local store since it's really been decided that I'll give my Orks another go after so long when I started actually painting models. So regardless of how the codex is actually going to look in detail, I'm committed. I very much doubt that the general look of my army will change over the junk heap I got in 3rd ed. Warboss, shock attack gun (I know, that wasn't in the 3rd ed codex, but I did play a handfull of games after the 4th ed codex dropped using my 2nd ed model), Meganobz (this time hopefully more than three), Trukk Boyz, Trukk 'Ard Boyz, Battle Wagon Flash Gitz. Now there's a Morkanaut in addition to that and I may not be able to get a box or two of Kanz to go along with it. Again, all the wonderful plastic when that was all metal back when I last played Orks. Only a couple more days. Gorkanaught. £65 Or Stompa. £70 Hmmmmm Easy choice for me. I like the look of the GorkaMorkanaut, but not of the Stompa. It's a shame, though. Despite looking pretty, the GorkaMorkanaut barely has any spare bits left once you're done assembling. No idea about the Stompa, but for that price tag GW could have thrown in at least some grot riggers, glyphs and extra armor plates.

Was looking at the GoMonaut last week, if they'd put an assault ramp on it..... Didn't you know? GW hates xenos. Orks are only there so that Space Marines have something to shoot at? That's one bit that I really need the codex for.Limited use of limited transport capacity requires an in depth look before I know what I want to put in mine. If I want to put anything in at all.

Got the codex. A proper mixed bag. Some will love it. Some will hate it. I'm just going to call it "functional". Good enough to play my pretty little Orkses, but in any other way an insult to the army and its players.

Well I got an email this morning telling me my order was "on its way". ... Meaning? GW don't specify it it will be 2-3 days after they to me or whether I get it today! Not here yet is all I can say. So I try and call them "this number is not accepting calls at the moment, please try later" WTF? Are they so inundated with calls from people who "preordered"and, incidentally, prepaid, and not received their orders that they've disconnected their phones? That does it, I will only ever order stuff from the discount stores from now on, and I will be writing to GW again complaining if the parcel does not arrive by the end of today!
