Our club has been running a Necromunda Campaign since before Xmas on a fortnightly or three weekly cycle (so we don't all get bored and drift away as usually happens!).
Naturally the Blue Oyster Club Cult got another "outing" and they've been doing OK so far.
My Leader very early on got "Inventor" but in the 12 or so games so far hasn't rolled a single 6!
However, Wednesday week ago another one of my Gangers rolled Inventor and blow me if at the end of the evening I didn't roll double-6 for my inventors!
One of them invented a power axe, which I have still to model, the other invented a "One-in-a-million Heavy Plasma Cannon"! Woohoo! My BS 6 Heavy's eyes lit up and he started drooling! LOL
Naturally as we are running a WYSIWYG Campaign I had to model him!
I had a spare Heavy body from the latest (many years ago now ... thanks GW! ) set of Goliath mini's, and an autocannon plus a backpack from the previous issue minis (back in the '80's???), plus I had a metal plasma gun sponson from an old tank of some sort, Leman Russ I think (cut it up for my Grot Tanks! )
So I cut the plasma cannon off the turret fitting and cut the back half off the autocannon, then added a few "gubbinzes" to make it look more like a proper cannon!
I fitted the back pack, which had a fuel tank inherent in the mould, (thankfully), and fitted a pipe from an old metal Killa Kan joining the fuel tank to the gun.
Here's what he looked like at that stage:
I spent much of today painting him and I finished with a coat of varnish about an hour ago, I added a bit more gubbinz to the gun to make a fuller back half as the autocannon is very thin compared to the plasma gun half.
So he's ready to kick some *ss this Wednesday!
One of my mates, who already stole my "1-in-a-million boltgun" and other weapons through an earlier Captured result said "I can't wait to capture that 1-in-a-million Heavy Plasma Cannon Bob!", I haven't the heart to tell him my Heavy has since acquired the "Escape Artist" skill and treats a Captured result as a Full Recovery! LOL
So C&C welcome (not the best pics in the world but I am still having fun with this damned camera! It's too advanced for my dinosaur brain to cope with! LOL)
