That didn't take long - posted on dakkadakka Well, there's no basing, so it doesn't count! or about 304.8mm for our continental friends... I still think you guys measure your own feet and then try to convince each other that that is in fact the official measure of things and everyone else is wrong. It would explain why GW's Knight shrunk from 8" to 6" overnight.

Yeah. That's what I'm saying. We here in continental Europe don't sweat calculations like that because it originated in the eighties and everything from the eighties is METAL!

Badfang did you know that the definition of a foot since 1960 is linked to what is a meter? A foot these days is defined by being exactly 0.3048 meters. Or 0.3048 times the length of the path travelled by light in vacuum during a time interval of 1/299,792,458 of a second.

And there's me thinking it's the length of the thing attached to the bottom of my ankle, how silly of me. Still, I suppose something had to be done - again from Wiki In "The Magna Carta" of 1215 (The Great Charter) with the seal of King John, put before him by the Barons of England, King John agreed in Clause 35 "There shall be ................................... one width of dyed and russet and hauberk cloths--namely, two ells below the selvage..." Edit: Hey, that's kind of relevant to knights! Edit 2: I got really bored and divided 0.3048 by 299,792,458 and got 0.000000001, should have been expecting it really Edit 3: The above figure is, of course, only accurate to less than one ten millionth of a percent
