I know good quality and cheap don't usually go hand in hand but I'm on a really tight budget, I am getting £35 for a small commision job at the end of the month and really need to get my hands on an airbrush and compressor complete kit so I can just take it out of teh box and get practicing without having to go out and buy extra tubing etc.
I have not had good luck with such things- I bought a compressor/ airbrush kit ages ago, sold the airbrushes to buy a badger brush (which promptly broke/ blocked) and then replaced that with an Iwata Neo brush (same problem) so yes, it's obviously something I'm doing wrong but if I'm going to start afresh I need a new compressor as well (mine is looking and sounding very tired, the regulator doesn't seem to work and I have no tubing so I may as well (hopefully) learn from past mistakes and start from scratch with a new brush/ compressor kit.
So yeah, I will have £35 towards it, please recommend me a decent kit that I don't need to add £100s to!
Cheers guys

My RDG tools one is still going. I've had it for years. It's moved house half a dozen times and it just keeps going. It's not fancy but it works

As stretch said. The rdg tools set is great for the price. 2 airbrushes (1 suction and 1 gravity fed) a compressor with the all important tank too. It's delivered pretty speedily too

looking over those and have they changed them? As mine came with a storage tank, which doesn't appear to be in any of their pics.

The tank holds a store of 'pressurised'air for the brush. Meaning the flow reamins constant throughout spraying. Where as if it comes straight through from the compressor it can 'pulse' a bit. The tank also means the compressor only runs when the pressure in the tank drops. In my case that means a tad less vibration and noise through the hobby room floor lol.

So the compressor they used to sell is better than that one? I'll probably go for that kit anyway as less than £70 for a compressor and 2 decent airbrushes is a really good deal regardless thanks FK

Oh don't get me wrong. RDG does a fantastic deal and they may have just shrunk the set or not included the pic of the tank.
As a starter set i think its hard to beat. I painted my dropzone commander stuff, my riptide and am in the middle of painting my deadzone terrain using the brush kit from them. Never had any problems with the brushes.

yup. Riptide Dropzone Commander Deadzone terrain I use the airbrush mostly for getting a nice smooth base layer down on models, especially with difficult colours. I am not skilled enough with it for what some people can do (paint entire models). But it helps massively with speeding up the early stages.
