Interesting choice of models, all built and converted by yourself? Yes indeed, all mine. The background idea is that this was a Great Company that although was part of the Heresy, was NOT at Skalathrax and so therefore still has the old organisation and the old colours; - they raided an AM Forgeworld and 'requisitioned' some new kit to go along with the old gear. Backpacks in particular, fluff having it that MK 7 is far more reliable and efficient than MK 3 and 4. Equally, MK 7 armour itself is meant to date back to the Heresy, so it's not inconceivable they have some complete suits. Anyone falling too far to Khorne gets the crap stuff and swords beaten out of boiler plate, pointed at the enemy and let loose to see how many they can take with them. And the Stormraven? Some foolish Blood Angel left the keys in the ignition.....

Bike sq uad is on hold for now after I hit upon the idea of using Juggernaughts instead.... So in compensation I offer pre-paint and very crappy pics of my incipient Berzerker squad instead. You can't make out much thanks to the distance and the flash, but at least it shows that I am still doing something. I'm using power armour legs, Marauder Torsos, Chaos Warrior helms (some with horns removed) and a mix of Marauder and Savage Orc weapons, plus regular boltpistols.

Maulerfiend conversion - using a Slaughterbrute head. I'm trying for more of a 'Beast in Armour' than a mechanical creation, hence the de-spiking: Hence the control box and collar around his neck: Now, if only I could find those damn shoulderplates.....

Looks good. The only thing I don't like in this blog is the purple marine statue. But that has more to do with my personal preference that statues should be painted either in metal or in stone colours.

I confess I'm not completely sold on it myself - was meant to be an Emperor's Children statue that the Maulerfiend just pushed over before trampling on it, but now I may just make a whole new base from scratch. What to put on it, though.....

I like the idea and see no problem with it. Painted stone works just fine for me. Perhaps you are not convinced of it because it's not done? Happens to me all the time. You should try to paint the parts where the statue is chipped and torn like stone or concrete and paint everything else as you would an Emperor's Children Marine. You should probably drill into the ankle and put some bent metal pins in to reinforce the idea this is a toppled statue. You can also chip paint where the Maulerfiend rammed into the statue, and where its feet eventually rest. Nice work on everything else, too.
