Very nice work on the sculpt. I am not one for Orks... but that Boss is the BOSS!

Thanks guys, I reckon Space Marshall will make a suitable rank for 'im (they are Space Orks : . No Pix, basically same but brown, just had a look at tomorrows weather and thought I'd better get the purity seal on now. Gonna be interesting trying to paint him from the outside in - usually I start with the skin and paint out, but his coat's going to be DPM using hairspray and the idea of having to mask everything else up doesn't bear thinking about, so coat first. And since the Waaagh's down again and my avatar's gorn, looks like I'll have to get my skates on and get him suitably photogenik...

So, I've got his DPM trenchcoat painted Since last time I've repainted the black/grey/white primer, let it dry, sprayed the brown base coat, let it dry, sprayed him with Purity Seal, let it dry, sprayed him with hairspray, let it dry, sprayed him with green, let it dry, scrubbed the green with warm water and a cut down toothbrush, let it dry, (time for a pikky break) sprayed him with Purity Seal (again), let it dry, sprayed with hairspray, let it dry, sprayed dark brown, let it dry, scrubbed that with a cut down toothbrush and warm water, let it dry, and re-sprayed with Purity Seal. I think I may have called this a 'quick and easy' way to do cammo, I mean, there's probably only about five or ten minutes actual painting involved, it's the drying that adds days to the job, but since that's the same for one or one hundred..... Actual proppa painting wiv a brush next

Thanks muchly guys, I actually enjoyed making him too (and gobsmakked how well his seegaaagh photographs), a lot more fun than I get gluing GW together. So, what next, anyone even remotely expecting a dredd? Splendid, last week Draco asked a question on his omnithread about water effects, reminded me I'd still got this floating (hoho) around Originally I'd used Secret Weapons 'Realistic Water' but either through shrinkage or absorption it had 'dried' to the point where there were a few isolated puddles separated by thumbprint marked sludge banks. So I got some Envirotex and topped it up a bit, the surface is a bit scuzzy - possibly through cold (about 10 C when I poured it) or damp (outside in a shed) but it's still more than shiny enough for most purposes as these three handy Barry's are demonstrating Now I've got to get that zoggin roof sorted.

Zoggin roof sorted (sorry about the background - it's got a bit big) Roof closed and roof open The roof panels are going to need a bit more work on them (and some counter weights to hold them open and closed - this is the third time I've made the corners, first two times they opened too far, this time they don't quite open far enough, could say I got my sums wrong again but that would be misleading)

Zoggin 'eck, coulda sworn I only nodded off for a minute or two Started a nob I've had lying around for ages and decided to have a go at putting some OSL sunlight on him so took a series of 'studio' photos of him lit by an anglepoise lamp, exaggerated the contrast and printed off the photos for a guide then pre-painted the shadows onto the figure Got a bit carried away with the brahn and nearly lost the effect Then gave it some green Have to see how it looks after the dark brown has gone on. Thundatower has finally got it's roof working (for an Orky value of 'working') Have to start on the musical bogseats next Oh, and da boyz had a stroke of luck when they woz out kroozin and spotted an unattended delivery wagon round the back of Bigshootaz wer e Us

Lol ... Just love the mental image of them "acquiring" the equipment.
Looking really good and that break down of OSL is very handy. Keep up the good work!
