I assembled such a farmhouse. While it's true that the plastic pieces have no area that says glue here, anyone should be able to do the little gap filling that may be necessary. The upside is that the kit allows a lot of flexibility, making it easy to have distinct houses of various sizes, or simply some low, ruined walls. The rubble piles that come with it and fill corners or go along walls to lend stability are quite neat, adding to this flexibility since you can actually have a single wall that stands without help (other than that of the rubble, of course). Of course after saying how worthwhile the set is, I checked on Warlord's web store, and behold: it's out of stock. Perfect.

Check Firestorm Games as well, as they tend to have the Ruined Hamlet set for a little less than Warlord's price.

Thanks, I'll be sure to check if we need one (we may get together for some terrain planning/building this weekend). I notice other retailers seem to have stock on things that are out of stock at Warlord's store. I bought sand colored order dice (which I want for my Japanese) from Wayland Games because they weren't available directly from Warlord.

be carefull with regards to the order dice as there are 2 types. The older dice have a much more square edge to them and the newer ones are more rounded. In terms of use it makes little difference. But a less scrupilous player will be able to 'feel' the difference in the dice in the bag.

The Order Dice available from Warlord are all now of the round edged type. However, as Ghostwalker says, the old type and the new type of dice are easily distinguishable in the bag which makes it a bit of a pain in the ass. I'm fortunate in that I have 2 dozen of each style so I can use whichever type my opponent is using.
If your club is a member of the Gaming Club Network, then it might be worthwhile checking out if they have discount codes for certain companies. Our club does and Warlord recognise it with decent discount.

Yeah, we all have the new style. I've been wondering what the old style was, but if it's just rounded versus unrounded edges, I'm sure we won't run into problems.
We don't have a club, really. Not that I know of, anyway. Just a bunch of people gathering for a game or two on a more or less regular basis.

You'd be surprised. Even when playing with friends, it is very off-putting to shove your hand into the cup/bag/whatever receptacle and try to ignore the square edged dice which you know are yours in order to be "fair and unprejudiced"! Been there, done it, hence why I invested in a set of the new rounded dice in order to have a set of both types.

I see the problem, but since we all just started from scratch ordering from official channels, so to speak, and there's only four of us (with a prospective further two), three of which definitely have new style dice, there's not much danger of messing up the dice just yet. But as I said, it's good to know the problem exists. I had a further two test games on Saturday. I say "test" because we don't have a proper board or terrain yet, so it was more getting used to the game mechanics, but it was good fun regardless. It also helps getting a feel for what kind and amount of terrain is missing. Also, resounding victory for the little guys with pointy sticks everyone made fun of beforehand. Banzai.

Terrain is a major part of this game, although you don't want sooooo much that you can't place your models! At the same time you don't want Planet Billiard Ball where the tanks will just sit and pepper the place, followed by the artillery and machinegun nests. Having a look at some photographs on Google for the various types of battlefield can give you an idea of just how much you actually need. Fields for example can be quite numerous, but it means that most of that area then is counting as Rough Terrain which slows down the infantry and tanks, and wheeled vehicles can't traverse it. A few roads/laneways are useful, and about 6 to 8 buildings of ruined farmhouse size will give you ample terrain pieces to allow a fairly flowing game without making it too much of a shooting gallery.
