What if I cheated and said I bought the models but in actual matter of fact they are sitting in a box in my spare room and everyone thought I'd bought them? Seriously though, I need a motivator to paint some fantasy models so this may well be it... FK

I'd either be just spraying an under coat over the top of existing bad paint jobs or stripping them if they were already painted. A lot are not even assembled. Just depends on which army I go for.

Well either of those could work I guess, just as long as the unit isn't already fully painted before you start! If they are I'll be round with the painting police!

Mine aren't even assembled, still bare grey plastic and I will provide proof! FK

Warhammer Fantasy is, and has always been, my first love. I don't get to play it very often as most of my mates in Wolves only play 40k or non-GW skirmish games- and WHFB is a bit too expensive to start if you're not going to fully commit to it.
It's a shame, but I have been selling my armies one at a time to fund other projects. Next on the list to get rid of are my Tomb Kings and Orcs and Gobbos. Although I may get rid of these to buy a Lizardmen or Empire army that I'll never use. I HATE THIS HOBBY SOMETIMES.

Well I'll think over the rules a bit more (on my journey home) and throw up an interest/sign up post in the challenges section tonight or tomorrow and see who might be interested.
Also Robin I'll always play you mate! But yeah everyone mostly plays 40k, hence this thread in the first place!

Maybe it's worth playing 2x 40k games at the euro meet one year and having time to try out a different game (whfb, x-wing, dreadball) as well?
Wish I'd had space to bring along catan or something for drunken gaming at the pub/hotel.

I would be up for this aswell. Though i need to decide what i am doing in regards to fantasy. My 2400+pts of grey plastic elves just don't hold me painting wise anymore.
As to the amount, i think £100 maybe a little steep for a fair few of us.
Playing wise...could we not arrange it at the euromeet or organise a warhammer world meet up maybe once or twice a year.

I admit to stealing the idea of the twitter #warmonger community. But they have 3-4 monthly meet ups. It works well as long as you plan well in advance. Me i am doomed for any event on a saturday, until i find a job that lets me have the occasional 1 off.

I was lucky to be able to get to go last weekend.

Still might be a bit steep for some and would probably be better off having it build up £30ish a month. Nothing stopping entrants spending/painting more if they want/can do. From previous experience I know when I get into the batch painting mode, the limiting factor will be number of built models. So I'll probably end up either doing way more than the limit or nothing. I'll also use the current range for pricing as I'm going to be using a mix of OOP and more recent stuff. The grand sum of £30 used to get you a whole lot more than it does now!

Yeah, that's the sad fact. Well maybe it could just be a unit a month, however that may be. But to have a valid army after a few months.
